FOREO has an immediate need for an inspirational, talented and hands-on Finance Manager to join our award-winning Tokyo, Japan team. In turn, we offer an exciting and dynamic working environment.

Position Overview:

Under general direction, the Finance Manager will perform accounting and management support in the area of finance and accounting. Primary responsibilities may include: planning and organizing financial information in support of management; preparing and assisting in the preparation of year end closings, audits, contracts, financial statements, financial documents, analysis and other various reporting. In addition, the individual in this role is responsible for establishing and maintaining records and reporting in accordance with legal guidelines. This is a solutions-oriented role, requiring collaborative and innovative leadership in support of the entire organization.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee and support the activities of accounting and finance operations, to include:

                    *Supervise the day-to-day finance activities, such as book-keeping (i.e. general ledger                                          maintenance);

                    * Invoicing (AR) and accounts payable 

                    *Processing payroll

                    *Bank and Cash Flow Management

  • Manage Finance interactions cross-functionally with other teams as necessary, including Global Finance team, HR, IT, Legal, as well as other parts of the company 
  • Ensure local tax compliance such as import/export tax planning and reporting 
  • Annual tax filings
  • Manage month-end inventory count in warehouse and set up processes for inventory reconciliation and cost recognition 
  • Promote continuous improvement through leadership, guidance and education 
  • Provide advice, counsel and management of accounting and financial actions; ensures all applicable legal guidelines and best practices are followed 
  • Build/enhance internal controls on key risk areas; implement rules and procedures to company with local and group requirements 
  • Ensure monthly and quarterly internal reporting in compliance with local accounting requirements; to include accompanying commentary and various financial analysis 
  • Serve as an employee point of contact to finance procedures, accounting and payroll related questions 
  • Stays abreast of financial/accounting trends by participating in educational opportunities 
  • Drive the selection, implementation and upgrades of all financial systems and processes to ensure that we are maximizing our use of technology in streamlining operations and scaling with the complex nature of our workforce 
  • Ensure timely and accurate analysis, benchmarking, preparation presentation, and communication of Finance KPI’s and metrics to the management 
  • Other duties as assigned, to include various ad-hoc research projects and/or special projects 

Required/Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, business administration or another related field required
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous accounting experience required
  • Relevant certifications in field preferred (i.e. CPA)
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive financial and proprietary information
  • The ability to move between strategic thinking and rolling-up your sleeves to tackle operational work
  • Strong emotional intelligence, integrity, and pride in serving as a Finance subject matter/technical expert
  • Ability to clearly communicate in Japanese, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong business level of spoken and written English to communicate among other offices/colleagues internally
  • Ability to build effective work relationships, influence behavior, and manage change
  • Intermediate proficiency with G-Suite and/or Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical and math skills
  • Must be detail oriented and able to handle complex instructions with care and follow-through
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in execution of assigned tasks
  • Ability to adapt to changes and work in a fast paced, demanding environment
  • Dependable and proactive, with the ability to prioritize workload and use time efficiently
  • Passion for learning about FOREO products and industry
  • Occasional national and international travel is required
