FOREO has an immediate need for an inspirational, talented and hands-on Operations Supervisor to join our award-winning Tokyo, Japan team. In turn, we offer an exciting and dynamic working environment.

Position Overview:

As an Operations Supervisor, you will act as main point of contact on a daily-basis in support of all planning and coordination of the organization’s operations. Your primary responsibilities will include: improving performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability through the implementation of effective methods and strategies. This position is responsible for managing employee relations which also includes: hiring and/or termination of employees, training, coaching and counseling, and oversight of production and/or processes. This position also requires independent decision making.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure that all workings are manufactured in a correct, cost effective and timely manner in alignment with specifications and quality requirements
  • Improve operational systems, processes and best practices that guarantee organizational well-being
  • Purchase materials, plan inventory and ensure warehouse efficiency
  • Contribute towards the achievement of company’s strategic and operational objectives
  • Examine financial data/statements and utilize them to improve profitability
  • Ensure key performance indicators are in place and motivate staff to achieve set targets
  • Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate personnel
  • Oversee day to day activities of the Operations segment
  • Ensure timely and correct internal information flow as well as with other departments in the organization, with the intent of supporting the environment of continuous improvement
  • Analyze process workflow, employee and space requirements and equipment layout to implement changes if and when needed
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures in compliance with the legal regulations
  • Forecast all requirements, analyses variances, initiate corrective actions where needed
  • Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality assurance control processes
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, as well as with local laws at shipping destinations
  • Build and manage relationships with key Operations vendors
  • Effectively manage budgets and costs in line with the business activities
  • Organize and provide needed reporting to higher management

Required/Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • College degree in business administration, management or another related field preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in operations management
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Cross-industry experience is welcome – retail industry experience preferred
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional relationships with both internal and external partners
  • Problem-solving skills, thinking ‘out of the box’
  • Experience in negotiating and working with vendors
  • Experience in warehouse and logistics operations
  • Experience in business planning and project management
  • Ability to clearly communicate and present in Japanese, both verbally and in writing
  • Adequate business level of spoken and written English to communicate among other offices/colleagues internally
  • Passion for learning about FOREO products
  • National and International travel is required
