FOREO is seeking a proactive and hands-on Social & Content Strategist to join our award-winning US team. The Social & Content Strategist is responsible for creating exciting, engaging stories for FOREO, taking the latest cultural and social media trends and spinning them into captivating stories that light up FOREO’s social media and create a natural buzz of activity and hype that can also be used in wider PR activities. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of social media, able to keep up with the latest trends and stories and be able to think of exciting ways to take breaking news and cultural events and turn it into quality content under extremely tight deadlines.

The main responsibilities will involve constantly researching stories that FOREO can ‘hijack’ alongside long-term planning of known key cultural events that could form a fun, engaging context for fresh content to be produced upon. Being able to think of both copy and visual elements that would make up these posts, and the ability to brief this to design teams effectively will be essential in this role.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Research key cultural events and social media trends that FOREO can hijack - sending potential options to the global Social Media team to explore further
  • Provide several key ideas per day for SM team to act on based on the ‘hot topics’ within the FOREO US audience demographic; share with PR when media worthy
  • Plan engaging content that will fit with known upcoming US cultural events
  • Create concise briefs for design teams to execute with quick turnaround times to ensure cultural relevance
  • Work closely with the global Social Media team to understand audience engagement and response to different content styles in order to accurately plan out the most effective content for FOREO’s audience
  • Support and work with the PR team to build stories that could also contain extra value in being pushed to the media
  • Oversee the creation of exciting, eye-catching, attention-grabbing content that will cement FOREO in the minds of the audience viewing it
  • Support US activations with live social media (where applicable)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members on content ideas
  • Repurpose existing content in ways that work for social media
  • Report on buzz, chatter and any relevant data that can be used for storytelling purposes
  • Engage and respond to our audience on all channels
  • Other duties as assigned

Required/Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Bachelor's Degree required (English, Literature, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or Communications degree preferred)
  • 3-5 years working experience in social media setting preferred
  • Experience in copywriting for B2C audiences
  • Ability to clearly communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Passion and knowledge of the beauty and wellness industry
  • Detail oriented and hyper-organized
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and competently track progress with measurement tools
  • Ability to operate independently and demonstrate good judgment
  • KOL knowledge
  • Keen interest in celebrity and pop culture trends
  • Passion for learning about FOREO products and express a genuine passion for copywriting and conveying a message succinctly and in line with business needs
